A simple photo to PDF scanner that needs no app

Wondering how to convert a photo to PDF on iPhone without installing anything? Open this page in Safari, take or choose a picture of your document, pick a scanner filter and download the result as a PDF. The same steps work on Android phones, tablets and desktop computers.

The tool takes one JPG, PNG or WebP photo, lets you clean it up with a filter, straighten it with the rotate buttons and save it as a single-page PDF or as a JPG image. All of the work happens inside your browser using the Canvas API and an open-source PDF library, so your photo is never uploaded to a server.

What each scanner filter does

Original keeps your photo exactly as taken. Grayscale removes color, which suits pencil notes and printed pages. Black & White document mode picks a brightness threshold from your photo and turns every pixel pure black or pure white, giving a crisp, photocopy-style look that is easy to read and print. Enhance stretches the contrast so faint text gets darker and a gray background gets lighter. Each filter shows a live preview, so you can compare them before you download.

The filters only adjust what is already in the picture. They cannot add detail that the camera did not capture, so a blurry or very small photo will still look soft. If your image is low resolution, the tool shows a short note suggesting a closer, better-lit retake.

Why use this photo scanner

No app to install

It runs in Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox, so there is nothing to download or update on your phone.

One-tap filters

Four clear filter buttons with small previews make it easy to find the most readable version of your page.

PDF or JPG

Save a single-page PDF for forms and portals, or a cleaned JPG when an upload box only takes images.

Private by default

Your photo is processed on your own device and never leaves it, which matters for IDs, receipts and personal papers.

Built for phones

Large buttons and a stacked layout keep every step comfortable on a small touch screen.

When a scanned PDF is useful

  • Handing in a handwritten school assignment or worksheet through a portal that asks for a PDF.
  • Saving class notes or a whiteboard photo as a document you can file with the rest of your coursework.
  • Sending a signed form back to an office, landlord or school without access to a scanner.
  • Keeping receipts for expense reports, returns or warranty claims in a tidy, readable format.
  • Sharing a printed letter or certificate by email so it opens the same way on every device.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a photo to PDF on iPhone without an app?

Open this page in Safari, tap the upload area and choose a photo or take a new one. Pick a filter, rotate if needed and tap Download PDF. The file saves to your Downloads folder in the Files app.

How do I turn a photo into a PDF on iPhone with several pages?

This scanner makes one page per photo. Create a PDF for each page, then join them with our Combine PDF tool, or add several photos at once with JPG to PDF.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The filters, rotation and PDF creation all run in your browser, so the photo stays on your device and nothing is stored on our servers.

Which filter is best for a printed document?

Black & White usually gives the cleanest result for printed text on white paper. If thin lines disappear, try Enhance or Grayscale instead.

Why does my scan still look blurry?

The filters can only work with detail the camera captured. Retake the photo closer to the page, in even light and with the phone held steady for a sharper scan.
